Bedbugs, which can be found in beds or furniture, feed on humans to obtain blood meals. For bed bugs, there are two species that feed on humans:  (Cimex lectularius), which are prevalent in most parts of the world, and the tropical bedbug (Cimex hemipterus), which mainly are found in more tropical temperatures.

Their color is shiny reddish-brown after having a blood meal they become swollen and dark brown in color. The lifecycle of a bed bug consists only of three main stages: egg, nymph, and adult The eggs usually measure about 1mm in length and have a pod-like shape to them. The nymphs as the juvenile bed bugs are called take 6 weeks to several months to develop into a full-grown adult if conditions are most favorable that is which are the right temperature and the availability of nutrients. Both male and female bed bugs feed on sleeping humans at night which made them infamous for leaving small to medium bites in the morning time. When humans happen to be absent their secondary options are mice, rats, chickens, and other animals which may include your pets. In the daytime, they prefer dark and dry places such as beds, mattresses, cracks of floors, walls, and several types of furniture. It would not be considered out of the normal to find them behind wallpaper and picture frames since these places are considered optimal as well for breeding. Because bed bugs have no wings to serve as their means of transportation they are resorted to crawl distances and transport themselves from the bedroom to bedroom through small cracks and crevices present.

A secondary means of traveling is by taking chartered flights in second-hand furniture, luggage, and even clothes.  Head lice are the most common form of lice as the name implies found on heads and in hair and are mostly found on children spread occurs when people are in close contact and can cause irritation and itching.
